The World Association of Nuclear Operators (Wano), formed in 1989 after the nuclear accident at Chernobyl, has marked the 25th year of its creation by establishing scholarships for four students aged 25 and under who are pursuing degrees in nuclear power generation.

In addition to the scholarships, which are worth 2,500 pounds (4,100 US dollars, 3,000 euro), the four winners will be Wano’s guests at its 2015 biennial general meeting in Toronto.

Based in London with a branch office in Hong Kong and regional centres in Atlanta, Moscow, Paris and Tokyo, Wano has more than 130 members who work together to assess, benchmark and improve performance through mutual support, information exchange and best practices.
