DESPITE a plethora of information, George Leslie remains ignorant of the cost of nuclear power and its full-cycle CO2 emissions ('Scientists owe us some answers', Letters, January 20).
As long ago as 1989, you published a letter from me pointing out that even the OECD thought nuclear power cheaper than power from coal. As for full-cycle emissions, in December 2005 you published my letter explaining that studies show that nuclear stations emit 70 times less CO2 on this basis than gas-fired stations and 177 times less than coal-fired stations.
