Sir, I am so pleased that Mr Harper has a bill to reduce carbon emissions! What better way  to replace our present nuclear reactors ,with much smaller  output of residues, and cheaper than any alternate source of electricity, including decommissioning. Has he had his recent electricity bill?  Does he recognise that we are can  reuse our “waste” by reprocessing, briefly, into MOX, which in turn can be reprocessed almost completely.

The CoRWM adviser has, surprise, surprise, the Director of Greenpeace International on the committee.”Even more waste” to harm  future generations Harper predicts. What about asbestos, eternal. What about the many human lives lost in fossil fuel production, such as Piper Alpha, hundreds have died in the mines and the North Sea, but NONE have died from nuclear waste over fifty years in the UK. “Clean” Sweden has 10 reactors, Finland five, and China is building twenty, like many others, all to save burning filthy coal. Does he think , on a still day, of national security of our supply of gas, which could be drastically cut by Russia, or terrorists.

Yes, we do have a safe clean source of electricity, our very own Scottish nuclear, as a major part of our supply.
