There is no accounting for peoples beliefs or disbeliefs, but those who believe in windfarms as an alternative source of carbon-free electricity are fond of posing the following question: “Would you prefer to live next to a windfarm or next to a nuclear power station”.
This question is disingenuous in the extreme. In the real world, the
question would be: “Would you prefer to live next to a nuclear power
plant or in the middle of 2,000 400ft-high wind turbines stretching for
about 15 miles in all directions around you?.
Oh, and when the wind doesn˙t blow, you will still need a nearby nuclear plant to maintain a secure supply of the carbon-free electricity so essential in your fight against “global warming”.
Then, when the wind blows again, you still won’t need the windfarm as all the carbon-free electricity you need can now be supplied (more cheaply) from that self-same nuclear power plant.
The bad news is that you will still be paying for the windfarm you no
longer want as well as the nuclear power station you cannot do without.
